The ILRS Governing Board, Central Bureau and Associates wish to congratulate
ASI, and especially dr. Giuseppe Bianco and the Centro di Geodesia Spaziale
"Giuseppe Colombo", for their exceptional sponsorship of the 12th International
Workshop on Laser Ranging. The scientific, social and partner programs
were outstanding

The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center invites the ILRS Associates to the
Washington DC area for the 13th International Workshop on Laser Ranging
to be held in October 2002. Demonstration of the full automated SLR2000
system will be featured as part of the technical program

Resolution #3
The participants of the Twelfth International Workshop on Laser Ranging
express their great appreciation to Pippo Bianco, the Organizing Committee,
and all who assisted them, for a most fruitful and enjoyable week in Matera,
Italy
Resolution #4
Recognizing the importance of a further reduction of target errors for
the XXI Century SLR satellites, the Workshop recommends to ask the Russian
Aerospace Agency and the Institute for precision Instrument Engineering
(Moscow) to develop and manufacture a satellite based on the Optical Luneberg
Lens concept, and to launch the satellite into a circular orbit with a
700…1500 km height.
The Workshop asks the ILRS Governing Board to see for a possible sponsor
for this work.
