1) By plane
The closest international airport is Bari-Palese (BRI). From there, one can reach Matera:

a. By car, driving south on SS96 (Bari-Altamura) and then SS99 (Altamura-Matera) (about 65 km)

2) By car

a. About 5 hours drive from Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO) going south on A1 > A3 > SS407 > SS7
b. About 3 hours drive from Naples Capodichino airport (A3 > SS407 > SS7)

3) By train
